Ann Williams
(Chicago, IL) — December 9, 2009. Democratic state representative candidate Ann Williams, who is seeking the House seat on Chicago’s north side being vacated by John Fritchey, snagged a hugely important endorsement from the Illinois AFL-CIO on Tuesday.
Williams, who faces attorneys Ed Mullen and Dan Farley in the Democratic primary, adds the AFL-CIO endorsement to the backing she won last week from House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie and Deputy Majority Leader and Cook County Democratic Party Executive Vice President Lou Lang (D-Skokie) and other top lawmakers.
‘With the current state of the economy we must focus focus on the issues most imporrtant to working families affordable healthcare, access to quality education, keeping taxes down and, most importantly–job creation and retention,” said Williams.
“When it comes to job creation and retention, the AFL-CIO clearly determined I was the best candidate.”
Scott Tucker is running in the Republican primary.
