Illinois 2010 Elections: US Senate Hopeful David Hoffman Scoops Up $25,000

(Chicago, IL) — January 3, 2010. Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful David Hoffman is boasting a bit over the $25, 000 he snagged from grassroots supporters by the federal December 31 campaign reporting period.

In an e-mail to supporters, Hoffman wrote on Sunday:

I’m writing a quick note to let you know that we met our goal of $25,000 in grassroots donations by December 31, thanks to you.

You are the backbone of my campaign, and your support will allow us to provide voters in the Democratic Primary with an alternative to politics as usual in Illinois.

This is President Obama’s Senate seat, and we need the strongest Democratic candidate to retain it. With your support, we can turn the page on the politics of the past and work toward a reform agenda for the future.

Hoffman is going to need a lot more $25,000 bushels of cash to compete with Alexi Giannoulias‘ bulging barrels of campaign dough.

But not bad.

  2. David– Good luck and best in the primary. To echo the previous comment, I wish you were staying here, in Illinois, to continue your success in cleaning our house. Governor?– it’s not an awful title. God bless- jc
