(Springfield, IL) — March 10, 2010. The brunt of the $276 million cut from the Illinois Department of Human Services by Governor Pat Quinn in the new Illinois budget has fallen on Illinois’ community mental health system, losing $90 million.
Quinn’s proposed budget eliminates non-Medicaid community-based services and significantly reduce capacity grants.
The $90 million cut represents a nearly 40% cut to non-Medicaid mental health funding.
Not good.
