(Chicago, IL) — April 8, 2010. Political operative Scott Cisek, who helped engineer Toni Preckwinkle‘s victory in the Democratic primary for Cook County Board President, has resigned as Preckwinkle’s campaign manager to become political director at the Cook County Democratic Party.
Cisek announced his departure in a statement posted on a new blog “Cook County Democrats“:
I am afraid a perfect storm is brewing which could result in the Democratic loss of the Governor’s mansion, Barack Obama‘s Senate Seat, possibly even the electoral map. … With the encouragement of Toni Preckwinkle, I have left her campaign as of today. I am pleased to announce that I have been named Political Director of the Cook County Democratic Party.
The Cook County Dems just landed one hell of hard, smart worker. Cisek also brings an extra set of hands and–more important–fingers–for all those leaky political dikes.
Good luck, Scott.
