(Springfield, IL) — May 19, 2o10. Has Republican Lt. Governor candidate Jason Plummer paid income taxes?
No one knows. His campaign isn’t saying.
John Hoffman, a spokesman for the Brady-Plummer campaign, said Plummer has filed his taxes and did not seek an extension. He would not say how much Plummer paid the government.
Unless Plummer abandons his goofy refusal to release his income taxes, which the Associated Press‘ Christopher Wills reported yesterday, the 27-year old first time candidate will be hounded by the press until the issue becomes an unbearable distraction.
If Plummer thinks not, he should pick-up the phone and ask State Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloomington). Otherwise, the press will pummel Plummer mercilessly with the question: Have you paid income taxes?
