(Chicago, IL) — June 10, 2010. A majority of Illinois voters favor the repeal of President Barack Obama‘s health care reform, according to a new poll.
According to a survey of 500 Illinois voters by Rasmussen Reports on June 7:
Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters in Illinois favor repeal of the health care plan, slightly lower than the view nationally, while 42% oppose repeal. Those numbers include 42% who Strongly Favor repeal and 36% who Strongly Oppose it.
Not good.
If Obama’s home state voters are rejecting the President’s signature campaign promise and governing achievement, you know this thing is bad news in political terms nearly everywhere else.
Governor Pat Quinn would be well-advised to soft-pedal his earlier warm-embrace of the Obama’s new health care program as his campaign against State Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) gathers, hopefully, steam.
Supporting the reform is dangerous to a politician’s health.
