(Rockford, IL) — August 19, 2010. State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) on Tuesday suggested that the jur0r that provoked the hung-jury in ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich‘s corruption trial was “trying to make a name for themselves” and said that Blagojevich is “guilty”.
In a rambling press release posted on NBC-TV Ch.13′s Web site, Syverson stated:
I am disappointed with the results of this trial. Clearly, justice has not been served. I’m disappointed that we may find that this was due to a single juror trying to make a name for themselves. … Obviously, the facts show that Blagojevich is guilty.
Syverson was not in regular attendance at the trial.
