Illinois Primary 2012 Election Results: Senator Annazette Collins Loses; Kirk Dillard Wins… and More

(Chicago, IL) – March 20, 2012. As of 10:20 p.m., some key Illinois Senate primary race results have been settled, with one senator losing her seat.

Incumbent State Senators Annazette Collins (D-Chicago) has lost to challenger Patricia Van Pelt-Watkins.

Here are current the results for other key senate races:

Illinois Senate 5th Democratic:

  • Patricia Van Pelt Watkins 9,444 53.7%
  • Annazette Collins 8,134 46.3%

Illinois Senate 12th Democratic:

  • Steven Landek 6,981 66.9%
  • Raul Montes 3,449 33.1%

Illinois Senate 15th Democratic:

  • Napoleon Harris 9,964 43.8%
  • Donna Miller 7,985 35.1%
  • Pat Mahon 4,819 21.2%

Illinois Senate 18th Republican:

  • Barbara Bellar 9,670 74.1%
  • Ricardo Fernandez 3,376 25.9%

Illinois Senate 19th Democratic:

  • Michael Hastings 10,922 76.8%
  • Gregory Hannon 3,301 23.2%

Illinois Senate 23rd Democratic:

  • Greg Brownfield 1,097 30.1%
  • Thomas Cullerton 1,432 39.3%
  • Kevin Allen 1,114 30.6%

Illinois Senate 24th Republican:

  • Kirk Dillard 9,098 62.2
  • Chris Nybo 5,539 37.8%

Illinois Senate 28th Republican:

  • Jim O’Donnell 6,747 54.3%
  • Gayle Smolinski 5,677 45.7%

Illinois Senate 31st Republican:

  • Joe Neal 6,407 40.3%
  • Larry Leafblad 4,122 25.9%
  • Lennie Jarratt 3,093 19.4%
  • Michael White 2,286 14.4%

Illinois Senate 33rd Republican:

  • Karen McConnaughay 11,415 61.0%
  • Cliff Surges 7,313 39.0%

Illinois Senate 35th Republican:

  • Christine Johnson 9,365 44.8%
  • Dave Syverson 11,531 55.2%

Illinois Senate 36th Democratic:

  • Mike Jacobs 7,158 53.6%
  • Mike Boland 6,189 46.4%
