David Schroeder
(Chicago, IL) – January 8, 2010. Chicago’s 42nd Ward Alderman, Brendan Reilly, today endorsed David Schroeder for state representative in the Democratic primary over incumbent Ken Dunkin in the Illinois 5th district House race.
“The State of Illinois faces tough choices, and we need someone in the General Assembly who can provide leadership and represent the people who live in the heart of Chicago,” said Reilly. “David Schroeder is the best candidate for State Representative from the 5th District.”
The Reilly endorsement is a big deal.
Approximately one in five voters in the 5th Representative district lives in the 42nd Ward, which encompasses the Loop and Near North Side.
“I’m excited and pleased to have the endorsement of Alderman Reilly,” Schroeder said, noting that Reilly is one of the rising stars in the Democratic Party.
“I look forward to working together with Alderman Reilly to bring jobs to the district, improve mass transit, and create more educational opportunities.”
Schroeder is running against both Dunkin and a third challenger, Gwendolyn Drake.
His chances to beat Dunkin and Drake just got better.
The primary election is Tuesday, February 2, 2010, and early voting starts Monday, January 11, 2010.
