(Springfield, IL) — March 18, 2011. Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford today announced that he has hired the Executive Director of the Illinois Republican Party, Curt Conrad, to serve as his director of technical support services.
Conrad will oversee the treasurer’s office management of information technology, telecommunications, and general operations.
Previously, he also served the state of Illinois under Governor Jim Edgar’s administration and at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Conrad, who held the reins of the state party since September 2009, launched the controversial “voter integrity program” during the 2010 elections that targeted principaly African-American parts of Chicago, causing grief for the U.S. senate campaign of Mark Kirk, according to Talking Points Memo. Anti-Obama “birther” Sharon Meroni, who was involved in the effort, identified Conrad as the program’s contact.
Conrad, who currently lives in Springfield with his wife, Kristi and their two children, is a Macomb, Illinois native.
“The energy that Treasurer Rutherford brings to this office will undoubtedly create an enjoyable working environment …,” said Conrad.
