(Chicago, IL) — August 20, 2010. In the federal corruption trial of ex-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, the prosecutors routinely pointed to the fact that Blagojevich is a lawyer and should have known his actions were illegal.
For you Blagojevich trivia hounds, is Blagojevich still authorized to practice law in Illinois?
No.
Has he been disbarred?
No.
According to the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, Blagojevich, who was admitted as a lawyer in Illinois on May 10, 1984, is “voluntarily inactive and not authorized to practice law.”
However, Blagojevich did register, without malpractice insurance coverage, with the state in 2010.
